Decorate Your Box
- Cut half of the back side of your cereal box out and decorate the box to your heart’s content! We used yellow, orange and glitter construction paper to make it look like a shooting star.
- Be sure to create a sign to lure leprechauns up to your shooting star ride!
Create The Shooting Star
- Using the star template attached, cut out 2 stars. Make sure to assemble them so they are mirrored reflections of one another. Add glitter to make them extra sparkly and magical.
- Cut a straw about 1.5” long. Place the stars back-to-back. Use glue to sandwich the straw between the two stars you just created. We recommend gluing the straw towards the top of the stars to prevent it from rotating.
Build the Zipline
- To build the ladder, stack two craft sticks vertically on top of one another, overlapping slightly and glue together. Repeat this so you have 2 ladder legs.
- To create ladder rungs, cut several craft sticks in half and glue them to the ladder legs you just created. Space them evenly from top to bottom.
- Make it extra magical by gluing Lucky Charms cereal to the ladder.
- To create the zipline, glue the ladder centered on the outside of the box furthest from the trap hole. On the opposite side, glue two craft sticks side-by-side centered on the outside of the box to form a post.
- Tie a piece of string around the top rung of the Lucky Charms ladder. Then, through the Shooting Star’s straw, and tie it to the post on the other side of your trap.
- Create a sign to lure a leprechaun, and place Lucky Charms cereal inside the trap!
