  • Lucky Charms Cereal Box
  • 2 Helium Balloons
  • Ribbon
  • String
  • Hot Glue
  • Straws
  • Tape
  • Scissor
  • Ruler
  • Hole Punch
  • Optional: Green Construction Paper

Get Started

  1. Gather your supplies!

Turn Your Cereal Box Into a Hot Air Balloon

  1. Use a ruler to draw a straight line across your Lucky Charms cereal box right above Lucky’s eyes. Draw another line in the same position on the back of the box. Draw another line 2.5” above the first line on the front of the box.
  2. Cut out the back of the box down to the line. Be sure to leave the sides of the box intact.
  3. Cut the front of the box out to the top line, then use a ruler to help fold down the flap at the second line, to create a false floor.

Make a Rope Ladder

  1. Make a rope ladder by cutting straws into thirds and gluing them perpendicularly to a piece of string.

Attach Your Balloon

  1. Attach ribbon to helium balloons
  2. Using a hole punch, puncture a hole at the top of the sides of the box towards the top and string the balloon ribbon through.

Optional: Build A Forest

  1. Build a forest using the tree template provided to make the leprechaun feel more at home. Cut them out and slide them together. Build as many or as few as you’d like!
  2. Lucky will be trapped if he climbs the ladder of your hot air balloon and falls into the hidden false floor when he reaches the top!
